The Mothership Light, a prototype pendant designed for a product design course at LSU, embodies the fusion of industrial aesthetics and functionality. Crafted from laser-cut acrylic disks, this pendant light boldly showcases its embedded LED tape, deviating from the norm of concealing such components. The laser-scored frosted acrylic diffuses the LED's brightness, softening its glow while allowing the individual LEDs to shine through, creating a circular UFO-like pattern. Intended as both a decorative accent for bedrooms and a task light for personal workspaces, the Mothership Light harmonizes fun with function, inviting users to enjoy its extraterrestrial blend of modernity and artistry.
